The Truth About Folktales. Talk for grown‑ups, fifteen minutes to one hour. Hear Aaron speak about the value of folktales—why they appeal to us and what we can learn from them—and hear Aaron read his own retellings.

For the Love of Story. Talk for grown‑ups, ten minutes to one hour. Hear Aaron talk about his life and work as a children’s author, and listen to dramatic readings of his stories.

Reader’s Theater: From Story to Script. Workshop for teachers and librarians, one to one-and-a-half hours. Learn the tricks to adapting literature for reader’s theater. This workshop features a model for team scripting in the classroom.

Reader’s Theater: For the Love of Reading. Workshop for teachers and librarians, two to six hours. Get a complete crash course on reader’s theater techniques, from beginning to advanced! Begins with “From Story to Script,” on the tricks to adapting literature for reader’s theater, including a model for team scripting in the classroom. Continues with “From Script to Stage,” on enhancing reader’s theater with added movement and mime. Concludes with “Tips for Readers,” with help in building performance skills. All activities are designed to be duplicated in the classroom.

Author Online! Talk for adults, fifteen minutes to one hour. Let Aaron give you a guided tour of the many resources on his award-winning Web site. This talk requires an Internet connection and a projector supplied by the host.

The Art of Retelling. Talk for adults, five minutes to one hour. Find out what it takes to successfully retell a folktale or other traditional story, and hear some of Aaron’s own retellings.

The Challenges of Retelling. Talk for adults or young authors, grades 5 and up, one‑half to one hour. Hear Aaron detail his approach to retelling as used for particular picture books.

Ten Tips for Young Authors. Talk for young authors, all ages, ten to forty minutes. Aaron gives advice to young people who are serious about writing.

What Makes a Good Story? Workshop for young authors, grades 5 and up, forty minutes to one hour. Aaron talks about basic elements of story writing, and students share their manuscripts. This workshop requires advance student preparation.

Storytelling. For all ages, ten to forty minutes. Hear Aaron’s dramatic readings of his own stories. Perfect for library visits as well as general entertainment.
